After earning her undergraduate degree in biology from Hanover College, she moved to Massachusetts to continue her education. She graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Dr. Hays then completed an internship at Michigan Veterinary Specialists located near Detroit. Following her internship, Dr. Hays returned to the Cincinnati area. For the past 13 years, she has been working as an emergency veterinarian at emergency and specialty hospitals in Cincinnati.
